Message from the PresidentDear Member, I am honored to have been chosen to lead the Commonwealth Neurological Society as your President. Over the next few years, with the help of our Board, I hope to set out and achieve a number of important goals and objectives. Several of these have been proposed and instituted by our immediate past president, Dr. Michael K.Sowell, but they must remain high priorities to ensure the continued success of our Society. These include: a) maintaining the financial viability of the CNS, b) improving collaboration between the academic and private practice neurology communities, c) continuing our leadership role in neurology education in Kentucky, including the sponsorship of Advances in Neurology, combined with the spring meeting, d) expansion of membership to include a greater number of neurologists from around the state, as well as, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists and others with an interest in the neurosciences and e) potentially having a voice in legislative matters. In order to attain these goals we need to look closely at what we do well, where we can improve, what we should stop doing and what we don't do but should be doing. Your membership in the Commonwealth Neurological Society is extremely valued and appreciated. At the leadership level, it is our goal to be indispensable to you, our members. Please feel free to give any feedback to the leadership of CNS by contacting cnskentucky@gmail.com Sincerely, Vishwanath Sagi, MD, MPH President, Commonwealth Neurological Society |
